BIOGRAPHIE
Pierre-Alexandre Maranda has a ‘Prix avec grande distinction’ in chamber music and
contrabass interpretation, from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. He has
also perfected his improvisation skills with masters like René Lussier, Robert
Marcel-Lepage and Lori Freedman. He is a very versatile player. This asset allows
him to reach out to many styles of music and art like tango, jazz, contemporary, pop,
theatre, cinema and dance. He has played with many ensembles like the ECM+, La
Machine, Allogène, L’ensemble Verano and Trio Rousso.
